Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 18, 2026

In short: ClipFlow stores everything on your device. No data is sent to any server. No analytics. No tracking.

What ClipFlow Does

ClipFlow is a clipboard manager that saves your copy history locally on your iPhone. It helps you access previously copied text, links, images, and files.

Data We Collect

None. ClipFlow does not collect, transmit, or store any data on external servers.

  • No analytics or crash reporting SDKs
  • No user accounts or registration
  • No advertising or tracking
  • No network requests (except Apple's StoreKit for purchases)

Clipboard Access

ClipFlow reads your clipboard to save items to your local history. This happens:

  • When you use the ClipFlow keyboard
  • When you open the app
  • When Background Mode (PiP) is enabled
  • When you use the Quick Capture shortcut
  • When you share content via the Share Extension

Clipboard data is stored exclusively on your device in an encrypted App Group container. It is never uploaded anywhere.

Keyboard Extension & Full Access

ClipFlow's keyboard requires "Allow Full Access" to read the clipboard. This is an iOS requirement — without it, the keyboard cannot access copied text. Full Access does not give ClipFlow access to your keystrokes, passwords, or any other input. It only enables clipboard reading.

Sensitive Data

ClipFlow automatically detects verification codes (OTP) and password-like strings. These are marked as sensitive and auto-deleted after a configurable time period (default: 5 minutes).

Purchases

ClipFlow offers an optional one-time purchase ("Pro") via Apple's App Store. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.

Data Storage & Encryption

  • All data is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework
  • Data resides in a shared App Group container accessible only by ClipFlow and its extensions
  • All stored data (database and files) is encrypted at rest using iOS Data Protection (NSFileProtectionCompleteUntilFirstUserAuthentication)
  • If iCloud Sync is enabled, data is transferred via Apple's CloudKit private database with end-to-end encryption
  • You can delete all data at any time from Settings → Clear All History
  • Uninstalling the app removes all data permanently

Children's Privacy

ClipFlow does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not collect any personal information from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
